Council Estate Princess (in development)

Council Estate Princess is a new solo dance theatre work by Sarah Blanc exploring class, religion, belonging and contradiction through the lens of growing up Protestant in a Catholic council estate in Waterford, Ireland. Funny, messy and deeply personal, the work blends autobiography, movement, humour and storytelling to explore what it means to exist between worlds, and how the places that shape us continue to live in the body. At its heart is a question: how can this princess save herself and become the queen she always needed? Alongside the solo performance, the project is developing as a major socially engaged outreach programme with working-class communities.
