I’m Possible, Not Impossible Participant Call Out

Looking to be part of a FREE fun performance project over the summer?

What are we looking for?

Disabled adults aged 18+ who enjoy performing. No experience is necessary but you must enjoy working as a team and being creative.

Working with Moxie Brawl’s Artistic Director Sarah Blanc, you will be part of creating a brand new show called I’m Possible, Not Impossible.

Together we will create our own action-film style dance theatre show that breaks stereotypes and uses humour along with movement and an original script. It will be a celebration of who is in the room. It will be fun and unexpected and take inspiration from our own life experiences within the world, challenging each other to speak our truth.

We are interested in working with artists from the community with experience of physical impairment, of sensory impairment, of Intellectual Impairment or Learning Disability, Chronic Illness, and Neurodiversity.

Tramshed is a theatre company and community arts hub based in the heart of Woolwich, South East London. Tramshed have received funding from the Rupert Prokofiev legacy to deliver in partnership with METRO GAD (An organisation who provide advice and information, advocacy and volunteering opportunities for disabled people), to deliver a programme of work over the next 3 years called N-Abled. I’m Possible, Not Impossible is the first production of this festival.

Moxie Brawl is an award winning spicy inclusive dance theatre company who create work that your mum would love. Their work has been described as ‘wholly absorbing’, ‘endearingly witty’ and ‘satisfying’. Moxie Brawl creates work for the outdoors, indoors and places where dance shouldn’t be.

The show will be created and performed at Tramshed, Woolwich over the summer.

The schedule will be:

Tech and show week 20th-25th August We would like participants to be available for all dates, but we will be as flexible as possible.

Access Support
There will be an Access Support Worker in the rehearsal room at all times to care for the needs of the people in the company. If you have existing one to one support, brilliant, they are very welcome. If you have any questions regarding access, please contact community@tramshed.org

Taster Workshop
We will be holding a taster workshop at Tramshed on Mon 10 June, 11am – 12.30pm.

What to expect at the taster workshop: From Moxie, you will have Sarah Blanc (Artistic Director) and a member from the Tramshed team. During the session you will be led through a physical warm up. We will then lead you through a creative task that will be movement and character based.
